May 12 release: Sign in with Apple + Google, hosts own capacity

This release is about giving people the controls they’ve been asking for. Daters get one-tap sign-in. Hosts take ownership of their event capacity without having to email anyone. And the host dashboard goes live during check-in — no more pulling-to-refresh while a line forms at the door.

For daters

• Sign in with Apple. One tap. Your real name (when you share it) carries over to your profile.
• Sign in with Google. Also one tap. Both providers live in the same clean icon row on the auth screen.
• Smart notification inbox. Unread badges sync across tabs, tapping a notification routes you to the exact screen it’s about, and back returns you to the inbox instead of to the home tab.
• Empty states unified. The same icon size and centering across every tab when you don’t have anything yet. Small thing — calmer to use.
• iOS fixes. Photo picker works correctly again, magic-link redirect lands you in the right place, and the chat screen no longer occasionally gets stuck loading.
• Account deletion is now complete. Deleting your account revokes your Apple Sign In credentials too, so Apple no longer shows Dash as a connected app.

For hosts

• You own capacity now. Event capacity moved out of sales-only settings and into the host’s edit-event sheet. Bump it up the day of the event if the room turns out bigger than you expected, or down if a section is unusable.
• Waitlist auto-promotion. Raise capacity and any waitlisted daters get promoted to registered automatically, in registration order. Lower capacity and the last-registered get pushed back to the waitlist.
• Live registrations on the dashboard. Registration counts and the gender breakdown update in real time as daters RSVP, get checked in, or cancel. No more refreshing during the door rush.

Across the board

• Event-detail tabs reset to the top of the screen when you switch — no more "I’m halfway down the wrong section."
• Friendly error when an Android device has no Google account configured (instead of a generic crash).

Why we built this

Two pieces of host feedback drove the bigger changes here. “Let me change capacity without emailing sales” was the #1 ask of the season — venues change, rooms change, you find out the day-of that the back patio is closed. Hosts now own that knob directly.

“Let me see registrations come in live during check-in” was a close second. Hosts running a busy door don’t have time to pull-to-refresh between handing out wristbands. The dashboard now reflects reality the moment it changes.

Apple and Google sign-in was the obvious next step for daters. Magic links work, but a one-tap flow is faster for everyone who’s signed in before.
